Angela Whitney

Angela is adept at supporting people in experiencing their own strengths to connect with their own particular motivation and inspiration for health. She uses a variety of modalities, including touch, Polarity Therapy, the Raphaelite Work, Reiki, Healing Touch, breath, meditation, movement, yoga, energy exercises, cognition, humor, and a sense of adventure to enhance well-being and help with stress, deep relaxation, and personal growth.

Now, as a board-certified advanced holistic nurse and family nurse practitioner, as well as a registered Polarity Therapist trained in several energy modalities and Intrinsic Coach®, she has offered integrative healthcare for more than 15 years. One of her specialities is the sensitive and intelligent blending of traditional and alternative care. She works in the imaginative and beautiful setting of Spirit Ventures, now located in a charming cottage in Montford at 17 Zillicoa.

Her major emphasis is supporting people in their evolving self through working with the body’s energy system in different ways—with hands-on healing, somatic process, relationship, and cognitive work. Work addressing physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual domains support authentic strengthening of personal core capacity and knowing. Understanding the wholeness of the human system and work with body, mind, and spirit, Angela also addresses various health challenges, including menopause, addiction, tension, stress, and pain using hands-on healing and process work. In addition, Angela leads personal individualized retreats at Light of the Mountains Retreat Center in the mountains outside of Asheville.

On a personal level, Angela has been involved with her own path of wellness, healing, and awakening since 1971. Understanding that our bodies have intelligence to heal themselves when assisted by proper nutrition, exercise, and spiritual and social support, she became a nurse practitioner to combine heart and knowledge to bring this good news and effectively help others. She lives with her husband and son at Light of the Mountains, and has two adult active and accomplished daughters working internationally. She loves the night sky, nature, hiking, and gardening.
